The Linden Lumber Process

  • Logs are acquired and delivered
  • Logs are unloaded and scaled for footage and grade
  • Logs are either prepared for cutting, or stockpiled under water to preserve freshness
  • Logs go to debarkers sorted by size. Larger logs go to Rosser Head Debarker. Smaller logs go to 46” Ring Debarker
  • Logs are cut into "cants" using a 7ft Salem Bandsaw
  • Quality cants go to the 7ft Vertical Resaw; remaining cants sent to 10” Bull Gang
  • Opening cuts are sent to the 7’ Salem Horizontal Resaw
  • Inovec Edger/Optimizer
  • Inovec Trimmer/Optimizer
  • Sent to Drop Sorter and inspected according to grade, length, width, etc.
  • Stacked and Dipped
  • Sent to air dry yards
  • Sent to one of 35 Steam Dry Kiln to achieve moisture content of 6%
  • Cooling shed minimum 24 hours
  • Inspected by certified lumber inspectors, surfaced, sorted, and packaged
  • Sent to Processing Center for Logo, tally, packaging and strapping
  • Shipped by truck, rail, or container for worldwide destinations
